MAN DOWN movie, 10 powerful lessons learned.

This is the first time I will write a review for a Christian movie and this is because, for me, every Christian movie has an automatic 5-star rating. After all, the message is Jesus. The movie, MAN DOWN is one of the best movies I have watched over the years and I’d want as many people as possible to see this anointed movie.

Hence, the review.

I first stumbled on the link to MAN DOWN from my friend’s WhatsApp status last night and I discountenanced it. This morning, as I was about to do my devotion, I felt a great urge in my spirit to check it out. I quickly schemed through and found the link and the plan was to watch for a few minutes, pray and step out of the house.

I got into it and the only thing I knew was that I was crying after the movie ended and was praying in the spirit.

I was literally in tears because the movie for me was a great revelation.

I had been praying and hoping that the body of christ addresses some of these issues and I was literally seeing the answer to my prayers.

The Lord has put me in a privileged position and I have heard a lot of stuff from believers, people struggling with dirty pasts, and folks who are solely dying in a bid to hide their sins because they hold enviable positions in the church.

They’re constantly dying under the siege of ‘what will my church people say?

A lot of people have backslidden because of the fear of opening up because of what people will say.

I know that movie will serve as a translational bridge that will set a lot of captives free and bring back lost souls into the fold.

These are some of the lessons I got from this movie.

1. Jesus could leave the 99 to follow after one lost soul, how much more you dear believer?

God loved his sheep so much that he explained the depth of that love through the parable of the lost sheep, If Jesus the good shepherd could leave the 99 to follow hard after one lost soul, how much more you woman and man of God. Despite Bola and Chidi’s sins, God did not leave them, he did not despise them but it was the fellow believers who did. This is a clarion call to every believer, let he who thinks that he stands, let him take heed lets he falls. It is God’s grace that we live in and not our abilities, when your brother falls, help them up and don’t pull them down further.

2. If God has confirmed your life partner, and for one reason you both sinned, that still doesn’t mean that they’re not for you anymore.

The drill is to go back to the father and genuinely seek repentance and be sober and NOT continue in such sin anymore because we cannot continue in sin that grace may abound, the word of God says, God forbid. Create healthy boundaries and glorify God with your union.

3. Leave children alone to make positive decisions for themselves.

I think our generation will do better in this. When children are grown enough, please leave them alone to make decisions for themselves, stop getting and hindering the work of the father in their lives.

4. The only tribe is the TRIBE OF JESUS

I cannot stress this enough, a lot of people complain about racism but you cannot stand seeing your child marry someone who isn’t from the same tribe as you. What manner of a joke. So far as they’re children of God, that’s all that is needed, we are one body in Christ. Don’t push them away.

5. Your family comes first before ministry

If your family is in shambles and you’re doing ministry work, you’re only deceiving yourself. Leave what you’re doing and fix your home. Your home is your first ministry. Take care of your first ministry.

6. When you sin, please come back home

While as believers, we run away from sin, if by chance you have sinned, please don’t let it take you away from your father. Don’t let the devil keep you in perpetual bondage and chain. Sin thrives in secrecy, come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy. The prodigal son had to go back home when the suffering was much, his father upon sighting him from afar ran to meet him. That’s the way it is with God. please come back home, your father misses you.

7. God is an expert at turning situations around

One attribute of God is that he is a restorer, it doesn’t matter what the enemy has stolen or taken away from you, God can restore you and give you double for your trouble. Just trust him

8. The test of love and friendship is when situations are adverse

Some friends are closer than brothers, one of the ways to censor someone who has a genuine love for you is when situations arise. Chidi could have absconded because of all that happened to Bola but No, he was there with her through it all.

9. God still has sons and daughters

Be patient with God, he has sons and daughters. Be careful not to judge with human standards, who could have thought that a man as gentle and calm as Jude was molesting the pastor’s child yet every other person saw him as a sincere child of God from their human standpoint.

10. When pastors or people in authority err, this shouldn’t be an excuse to get off the fold, always remember that your youth pastor is human and when he does something despicable, rather than push them out or even push yourself out of the fold. Pray that the Lord restores them. Little wonder why Jesus said we should look up to him as the author and finisher of our faith(He knows the weakness of the flesh, even at some point, Jesus’s humanity almost got in the way but thank God for supernatural strength, he said: not as I will, but as thou will. Let Jesus be your perfect example ALWAYS!!!

This movie is a must-watch
